Eduard Sorokin
Hello, dear friends ! On site (see link below) I saw the photo of Hawker Hurricane aircraft, which has Norwegian roundels on wings. And what about fuselage and tail ? Are more photos of this Hurricane exists ? Or, maybe, there were more Hurricanes with such insignia in Norway (I think, it was after war) ? I shall pleased to see them. http://airforcephotos.luftkrigsskolen.no/DesktopModules/Repository/MakeThumbnail.aspx?tabid=53&id=207 Wait for answers. Best wishes, Eduard. Anders Nicolaysen
There was only one, a Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIc, Royal Norwegian It was delivered to No.22 MU in 1944, was a period at No.1695 Bombing Development Flight, after that placed in stock. The machine originally had serial number LF575, but this was cancelled at the transfer to RNoAF. It was given to RNoAF in 1947 and went to Luftforsvarets Tekniske Skolesenter (LTS) (The Air Defense Technical School Center) in Kjevik. It was only used as instruction material; later it was put aside for a future museum. However it was damaged when the hangar roof collapsed because of large snow quantity in March 1954, and after that it was scrapped. As far as I remember, it wore Norwegian roundels on both the over- and undersides of the wings, and on the fuselage sides. Anders
